Stephen’s journey in music began at an early age, but it wasn’t until after college when he moved east to New York City, that his love of music and sound developed into a career. His first New York City studio experience was gained at Three Tree Productions, a studio specializing in producing music and jingles for TV and radio advertising. At Three Tree he worked under Jake Holmes, Bernie Drayton and Nick DiMinno. Eventually, Stephen secured a position at the legendary Hit Factory Recording Studios. There, he navigated the ropes of the major label recording world, assisting on sessions from Anita Baker and Paul Simon to Wyclef Jean and Whitney Houston.

In 1998, Stephen moved on to Pink Noise, a SoHo production house specializing in creating music and sound design for television, independent film and radio. Some of Pink Noise’s notable clients include Atlantic Records, Coca-Cola, BMG, MTV, Leo Burnett, Young & Rubicam, McCann Erickson, among many others. He spent over five years at Pink Noise working as an engineer, producer, sound designer, composer and studio manager, and eventually earned the titled of executive producer. While at Pink Noise, Stephen broadened his skill set by working with musicians and artists after hours, producing and engineering projects that landed him credits in the MoMA and as well as producing tracks for Brooklyn band, SHAGG, that were finalists in the John Lennon Songwriting contest. Most notable was his work co-producing and engineering PJ Loughran’s debut release, “Grenadine”, which was voted by Performing Songwriter as one of the top twelve independent releases of 2004.

In mid 2004, Stephen and his wife, Lia, relocated to Chicago. Closer to family and in a fresh environment, Stephen, began collaborating with local Chicago artists and bands as well as maintaining close relationships with his New York clients. He has recently completed construction on his new ProTools HD equipped studio and is now charging ahead producing music and sound design work for bands, artists and advertising agencies nation wide.
